Moving Back to NYC...

We have the most wonderful news today! Our little family is moving back to NYC. The hubby received an amazing job offer and well... We have been itching to get back to a city that we love so much! It won't be easy moving from a huge 5 bedroom home to a tiny Manhatten apartment but we think the adventure is well worth it. Who knows...maybe living is small quarters will bring us closer;)  I have so many blog change ideas ... So stay tuned!!

Visit List-- Savannah Georgia

We have been to Savannah so many times that it would be silly not to share our all time favorite spots in this charming riverfront city.  There is something enchanting about it and as many times as we have visited, I can't seem to get enough.  I personally feel that October is the PERFECT month to visit. The hubby had to go there for a business trip last week and brought Jax and I along to explore the town while he was working.  I hope you enjoy our adventures as much as we did and please go visit this classy little town.  If you needed to draw up a blueprint for southern charm and hospitality, it would look something like Savannah. ;)

I have seen many pictures throughout the years and have heard the stories about Salvation Mountain, a piece of rugged rock in the California desert that was turned into a canvas for one man's vision of love and spirituality.  Beautiful beams of hope are emitted from this magical mountainside thanks to the artwork of Leonard Knight, who spent three decades bringing it to life.  When I heard about Leonard's passing this year at the age of 82, I knew I needed to finally cross it off of my bucket list in case mother nature reclaimed this inspiring piece of earth.  When someone no longer has control of their art, there is no telling what could happen to it.  While planning a vacation to Palm Springs this summer, I jumped at the opportunity to include an excursion to Salvation Mountain.  I know… Palm Springs in the summer!?  Welcome to the life of an off-season sort of traveling family with an eccentric sense of adventure!  Anyway, once in Palm Springs, it is only about an hour and a half away.  The region is ridiculously hot and you may start to wonder if you will make it out alive (just kidding -- it's totally safe, but bring water to stay hydrated and make sure your vehicle is in good shape with a strong air conditioner!).  I'm guessing less people visit during the summer due to the intense temperatures but I wouldn't want it any other way.  Crowds of tourists drive me nuts!  We almost had the place to ourselves and it was truly magical.  MAGICAL!  We are not your traditional religious family, but this place inspired us in every spiritual way possible.  What Leonard did is truly mind blowing.  You can feel his passion and love all around you and the mark he has left behind makes it feel like he is still there with you.  I will never forget the experience of visiting this place or the courage and dedication that this man poured into it with every stroke of the brush, which will forever live in my heart.  I find his passion inspiring in my everyday life and hope to capture a portion of love Leonard had to share.  This is what life is all about... feeling so strongly about your work (whatever it may be) that it continues to inspire and give hope to others even after you leave this world.  Amazing.  Inspiring.  Touching.  I hope all of you get to experience it one day!

Best Go-To Mommys Spots in NYC.

Some mothers may think New York City would be an extremely stressful place to raise children, but it's actually a mommy's paradise. Anything you can think of... this city has it!  With the best food, parks, education, and museums all within a stone's throw, NYC can be your playground.  While there's no shortage of things to do, I've selected my favorite spots in Manhattan and Brooklyn that all moms should check out.  Whether you're a local or just in town for a visit, you'll never run out of things to do in New York, as even lifelong residents can discover new corners of the city on a regular basis.  Here are my favorite spots... please share yours as well!

Empire State of Mind

How can you not think about NYC today .. especially if you live there or are from there? Most of you know my husband and his family are from NYC; my son was also born right on 53rd street in Manhattan. Even though we have moved to Atlanta, we don't want our son to forget where he can from and how important this city is to us and to everyone who experienced 911.  Our last visit to New York was amazing. We made enough time to have yummy Italian dinners with family, crazy bar nights with friends, hotdogs in Central Park, and we even visited the very hospital that Jax was born in. It was such a special trip and I hope you enjoy the pics!  Tomorrow we will list our all time favorite NYC spots on the blog. Stay tuned!!! You will want to check these out.
It is true what they say… THERE IS NO CITY LIKE NEW YORK CITY
