A SNOW DAY PICNIC

A Snow D≜Y Picnic!

After being snowed in for a few days, the thrill usually starts to wear off and cabin fever kicks into high gear. Our family loves picnics and we decided to not let the cold and snow keep us from doing one our favorite things together. Welcome to our winter picnic!! Enjoy our picnic recipes and a free snow day printable below=-))

For our picnic we made a super easy and healthy soup in the crockpot, grilled cheese on hamburger buns..(I find they are better for dipping), and salted caramel cocoa.

It's that time again ... SCHOOL'S OUT FOR THE WEEKEND!! WoooooooooHoooooo!!  Go explore your city, town, or one near by and have fun with your loved ones. For those of you in the extreme cold weather, go have fun anyway and prove that you can go with the flow.  Home work for the weekend- Find something in your city or town that you never really noticed before. Many times we are so busy with life that we don't stop to notice the small but seriously cool things around us. It could be a billboard, a bakery, a tree, an old house, anything that catches your eye and stands out as .. how did I miss this!?  HAVE FUN!! Take pictures!!  Happy Weekend!

I got to start my weekend with little happy face greeting me at the door. My classes start so early that Jax isn't awake when I leave in the morning. I walked in the door a little before lunch time and nothing feels better then seeing this as a greeting!!

Next we went around Atlanta to have lunch and to explore the city together. Happy dates with my Jax! =-D

Now that I am in Nursing School full time, Fridays mean so much more to me. I was spoiled with the amount of time I had to spend with my family and now that luxury is on hold. I work extremely hard during the week in order to get all of my work and studying done in order to have a fabulous weekend with my loved ones. Friday morning is my last class and I rush home with open arms ready to embrace the idea that something wonderful is going to happen. Let's face it ... every moment that you get with your kids, friends, and partners is a gift;a simply wonderful gift. Welcome to the start of our Happy Friday Posts...

WANDERLUST WITH KIDS ---> San Francisco. PART 1~

W≜NDER LUST~ San Francisco

Welcome to San Francisco... a city that stole my heart within minutes of my arrival.  It is lively, it is beautiful, it is everything wonderful for a family vacation.  My mom recently moved to California and as much as I miss having her nearby, I couldn't be happier to have another reason to visit Cali over and over again. ;)  I have always been a California girl at heart.  When I was 17 I was accepted to Humboldt State University's music program and though I ended up having a wonderful college experience at the University of Tennessee, I never fully let go of my California dreams.  I've made many trips to the west coast over the years... living in Yosemite National Park for a summer, staying in surf hostels (and sometimes my car) in Huntington Beach, driving cross country from Knoxville to Fresno, hanging out on the Hollywood strip with my hubby, and most recently to visit my mom at her new home on the Pacific coast.  I think I was always destined to be a California girl and hopefully in a few years, our family will be able to realize that dream and relocate to the west coast as well.  I have always wanted to raise my kids in California, but for now we will just have to be satisfied with traveling there... a lot. =-)

SO what to do in San Fran with the family???  Here are my FAVORITE SPOTS ...
