Skinny Baked Turkey Ziti with Pepperoni Hearts

Just because it's a holiday doesn't mean you can't be healthy. Our family loves pasta and carbs and I always try to come up with a way to make it "skinny." Try this super easy and quick recipe for a romantic dinner in with your loved one, a family supper, or bring this dish over to a friend or family member.

Side Note: We used my all time favorite healthy tomato sauce recipe from the True Foods cookbook but for a quicker meal, you can use any fat-free/gluten-free store bought tomato sauce.

Skinny Turkey Ziti Baked with Love
 1 lb 97% fat-free ground turkey
  2 cups gluten-free ziti noodles
1 clove of minced garlic
1 cup fat-free shredded mozzarella cheese
turkey pepperoni (17 slices)
small kitchen scissors or heart-shaped cookie cutter (I cut out the hearts myself, but you can also try mini cookie cutters)
4 cups of tomato sauce from True Foods recipe
Preheat the oven to 350. Cook ground turkey until completely browned. It's important to make sure there is no pink at all in turkey! Drain well and then pat with paper towel. Season with salt and pepper. Mix ground turkey and tomato sauce in an 11x7 baking dish (I have used every size dish you can think of for this recipe and it really doesn't make a difference). Top with shredded mozzarella cheese. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes or until cheese is fully melted. Cut and place turkey pepperoni hearts.  Dig in and feel the love!
